Careers

Build the task compiler with us.

Cognivix teaches industrial robots a new task from one human demonstration. We are a small team of roboticists and manufacturing people in Pescara, Italy and San Francisco, and we are getting ready to grow.

Why Cognivix

Hard problem, small team, real factories.

What we build

One demo becomes a running robot program

AiKit watches a person perform an assembly once, then compiles a program a FANUC or ROS 2 arm can execute, with recovery when parts move. Automating a new part goes from about five engineer-days to five minutes. The product is in customer pilots in Italy and the US.

How we work

Research that has to ship

The core methods come out of work with the Technical University of Munich and are published at venues like ICRA, IROS and RA-L. We prototype in simulation, then test on real arms in the lab the same week. Everyone talks to customers.

Where we are

Pescara and San Francisco

Engineering and the robot lab are in Pescara, on the Adriatic coast, forty minutes from mountains and sea. The company is incorporated in Delaware with a base in San Francisco for customers and investors. NVIDIA Inception program member.

Roles

Open roles

Research · Pescara, on-site

Senior Scientist, Perception and Control

You will build the geometric glue between what a 3D camera sees and what an arm does: turning one demonstration into poses, constraints and trajectories that hold up when the part is rotated, the fixture moves or a gripper slips. This role sits between deep learning and control theory and needs to be fluent in both.

What you will do

  • Own perception-to-motion methods in the task compiler: 6D pose, action generation, constraint extraction
  • Take methods from Isaac Sim to a FANUC or ROS 2 arm in the lab within days, not months
  • Publish what works at ICRA, IROS, RA-L or equivalent, with the team

What we look for

  • PhD in robotics, computer vision or machine learning, with first-author papers at top venues
  • Hands-on with transformers or 3D vision and kinematics, trajectory planning or impedance control
  • Python that survives production, not only notebooks

Deployment · Pescara, travel to customer sites

Robotics Deployment Engineer

You will be the person who takes AiKit from a crate to a running cell on a customer line: mount the camera and gripper, connect the FANUC or ROS 2 controller, run the first demonstrations with the operator and hand over a program that survives Monday morning. What you learn on the floor goes straight back into the product.

What you will do

  • Install and commission AiKit at pilot sites in Italy and the EU, typically in a day
  • Train operators to teach new parts themselves and support them through the first weeks
  • Report the failure modes you see so the team can fix them in software, not on site

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, robotics, automation engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience commissioning industrial robots or automation cells (FANUC, ROS 2 or comparable)
  • Comfortable with Python, networking and Linux on the shop floor
  • Italian and English; you like talking to operators as much as to engineers
